Jessie F. McComb is an independent tourism and cultural industries consultant with nearly 20 years of experience in private sector development working with governments, communities, businesses and associations to develop sustainable livelihoods. Through a range of projects with varied donors and organizations, Jessie has gained experience in destination development and planning, business start-up and management,  feasibility studies, strategy creation, market intelligence and destination marketing. Additionally, she has experience in designing and managing multi-year projects with public, foundation and academic organizations and the private sector.

Jessie has worked on projects with The World Bank, USAID, European Union, ACP Secretariat, UNESCO, Travel Foundation, and Aga Khan Foundation, among others. She holds a Masters of Tourism Administration in Sustainable Destination Management from The George Washington University and a BA in Physics and Art History from Hamilton College. 

Specialties: Tourism private sector development; evidenced-based decision making; sustainable, community-based and eco-cultural tourism development; artisan and craft development; cultural industries; assessment and feasibility studies; program design; and proposal writing.

Jessie has worked in over 30 countries and territories in Africa, the Pacific, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean providing technical assistance and advisory services on sustainable tourism and cultural industries development. She has a proven track record of delivering tangible results through intensive training programs, long-term capacity building, and mentorship to tourism and cultural industries enterprises, associations, staff and public sector stakeholders.

Jessie has experience in enterprise and sectoral strengthening delivered through technical assistance and advisory services in private sector development, capacity building, training, and marketing. She has specific expertise in tourism product development, operational and financial management, and marketing to FIT and package tourist market segments and in cultural and creative industries sector development at national and regional levels.
